It was not intended to be a 3/4 ton or compete in the 3/4 ton market. If you think it is the equivalent of a 3/4 ton have a look at the axle. A 6 lug axle is not a 3/4 ton axle. The XD is a HD 1/2 ton.

The rims are 8 lug and the guy at the tire shop did say that that is for a 3/4 ton truck. I need to purchase brake lines and evidently there is a difference in the routing for the two types. Today we have larger more capable vehicles that make the old numbering system obsolete.
